About Us

Muntz & Associates (M&A) is a boutique accounting firm that provides accounting, taxation and advisory services to its client base of individuals and privately-owned small and medium businesses.

M&A specialise in providing tailored accounting, taxation and business advice to their clients across a range of areas, including:

• Financial statement preparation;
• Income tax, GST and FBT compliance including preparation of returns;
• Taxation advice, including capital gains tax, negative gearing, ATO audits, payroll tax and tax planning;
• Bookkeeping;
• Accounting software implementation and support for most packages, including cloud accounting products such as MYOB, Xero, QuickBooks Online; and
• Business advisory services, including benchmarking, budgeting and cashflow forecasting, business startup and purchase, structuring, succession planning, risk management and strategic planning; and
• Business valuation services for a range of situations, including purchases and sales, estate and succession planning, litigation matters and income tax compliance reasons.

The business operates out of premises in Albury and Canberra, and was established in 1995 by Adrian Dodd. On 1 July 2018, Adrian began his transition to retirement, with long-term employee, Rachael Muntz, purchasing the business.

On 1 March 2021, Rachael’s husband, Ryan, a former partner of Findex, joined the practice along with three of his staff, and the firm was rebranded Muntz & Associates from that time onwards. The firm now employs 11 staff.

Rachael is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) with a Bachelor of Business (Accounting). Rachael began her career in accounting in 2002 in Albury before spending time in both Melbourne and London. Since travelling the world, Rachael has returned Albury in 2009 to raise her family.

Rachael joined ABM Accountants & Business Advisors in 2013 following a 10 year career in boutique and mid tier accounting firms. Rachael has experience across a range of industries including small to medium sized family investment and business operations, property development, primary producers and professional practices. In 2018 Rachael purchased ABM Accountants & Business Advisors, and the firm was rebranded to Muntz & Associates in 2021.

Rachael enjoys being a part of her local community and has taken on many roles over the years including school fundraising committees, Lions Youth and the Women in Chamber committee just to name a few.

Ryan is a Chartered Accountant (CA) with a Bachelor of Business (Accounting). He began his career in 2000 with KPMG Albury, with this firm eventually becoming Findex Albury. During his 21 years with the firm, Ryan worked with KPMG Melbourne and Findex Melbourne, and also completed a 12-month career break with Goldman Sachs in London. Ryan was promoted to Partner at Findex in 2014, and joined Muntz & Associates as a Partner in 2021.

Ryan has experience across a broad range of industries including small to medium family businesses, high net worth individuals, real estate and property development, primary producers, pharmacies and medical practitioners,  professional practices, hotels and hospitality and many more.

Ryan also has extensive experience and qualifications in business valuations which have allowed him to prepare over 125 formal business valuations for such reasons as business purchases/sales, business succession planning, litigation support (including expert witness valuations for matrimonial settlements) and tax restructures.

Ryan enjoys building long term relationships with his clients based on mutual trust and respect, and prides himself on simplifying complex technical issues and providing practical advice and solutions for his clients.

Ryan enjoys contributing to his local community, and has held many leadership and treasurer roles in the community over the years including Border Trust, Young Business Edge and Age Concern (now Live Better).

Pheobe is a Manager at Muntz & Associates, and has worked as part of a team of professionals providing taxation and advisory services as well as business valuations over many years.

Pheobe has worked in the accounting industry since 2010, and for the first decade of her professional career she worked with the Riverina’s largest accounting firm, Findex Albury (previously Crowe Horwath/WHK/KPMG Albury). Pheobe is a Chartered Accountant (CA) and was promoted to Manager at Findex Albury in 2019.

Pheobe has experience with a range of industries including aged care providers, professional practices, pharmacies and medical specialists, the automotive industry, start-ups and small businesses generally.

Since 2015, Pheobe has also worked as part of a team providing business valuation services, and has assisted in over 35 formal valuation engagements during that time. She has also provided advisory services to numerous clients regarding the purchase and sale of businesses, valuation requirements for tax restructures and general business planning advice, and enjoys assisting guiding her clients through all complex business transactions.

Adrian has worked as an accountant in the Albury and Canberra areas for the past 30 years.

Adrian obtained his Bachelor of Business (Accounting) degree at the Riverina College of Advanced Education in Albury completing his course in 1984.  He has run his own accounting practice since 1990.

Adrian specialises in taxation and business management for small to medium businesses and has extensive experience in a wide range of industries including transport, building, primary producers and retail.

A long association by Adrian in the sport of water polo has seen him made a life member of the Sharks Water Polo Club and the Ovens & Murray Water Polo Association.

Tash obtained her Bachelor of Business (Accounting) through Swinburne University of Technology and commenced her accounting career working with Johnsons MME where she was promoted to Supervising Accountant in 2020. Tash joined Muntz and Associates in November 2020 as a Senior Accountant, and is currently working towards her Graduate Diploma of Chartered Accounting (CA).

Tash has experience in a range of industries including primary production, construction, hotels and hospitality and transport. She has a passion for supporting small and medium businesses and their owners to achieve their personal and professional goals, and enjoys building long-term relationships with her clients.

Tash is also an active member of the Albury/Wodonga sporting community.

Meg is a Senior Accountant with a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) from RMIT, and began her professional career in 2016 at Findex Albury.  Meg joined Muntz & Associates in March 2021.

Meg’s role as a senior accountant is to assist clients with their day-to-day accounting needs, including providing tax compliance and business advisory services. She enjoys building strong, long-term relationships with her clients, and is often their first point of contact for any assistance they may require. Meg works closely with her colleagues at Muntz & Associates, and enjoys working as a part of a team to ensure that her clients achieve the best possible service and outcomes.

Meg has strong industry experience across a range of sectors, which include not for profits, construction, automotive services and agriculture. She also has significant experience with popular accounting software packages including Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks Online.

Meg grew up in the Riverina working in family businesses which included sheep/grain farming, retail, workshops, accommodation and legal services. Outside work she is an active member of the Country Women’s Association, and has a passion for baking, photography, music and adventures in nature.

Jo began her accounting career in February 2014 as a trainee with Findex Albury (previously Crowe Horwath/WHK Albury), and completed her Bachelor of Business (Accounting) over the course of her traineeship. In March 2021 Jo commenced with Muntz & Associates as a Senior Accountant.

During her seven years in the industry Jo has worked on a significant number of client engagements large and small, with a key strength being her specialist skills developed while working on a number of larger and longer-term outsourced accounting roles. On these engagements Jo became a trusted and invaluable member of each client’s team, and her experience, reliability and insights have been highly valued by each of these clients along with her ability to build strong relationships with them. Jo has regularly handled and overseen all aspects of these clients’ affairs, including payroll, debtor/creditor processing, monthly reconciliations and reporting and provision of advisory services to business owners.

Jo has extensive experience with all main-stream software solutions, and also has the ability to quickly grasp new software packages that may be less commonly used. Jo regularly assists clients with their day-to-day accounting and software queries, and provides practical solutions to complex problems along with ongoing support.

Jo’s mission is to provide quality service to her clients, help guide them through their financial compliance needs, and assist them in achieving their financial goals over the long term.

Paula joined Muntz & Associates Pty Ltd in an administration role in May 2013 after working for another local accounting firm for the preceding 12 years.

Paula maintains our company registers including attending to necessary changes and payments to Australian Securities and Investments Commission.

Paula has completed Certificate IV in Business Administration.

Nicole has held various administration roles in professional firms over her career, and joined Muntz & Associates Pty Ltd as an administration officer in 2020.

Nicole and her husband own a successful restaurant franchise, with Nicole providing bookkeeping and administration services to this business when she is not working with Muntz & Associates.
